Adult Muay Thai, 16 and over
The stand-up half
Hands, elbows, knees and shins. It runs alongside the Jiu-Jitsu programme, and plenty of members do both.

What a class looks like
Rounds, pads, and no sparring on day one
A class is a warm-up, technique, then pad rounds with a partner.
Sparring is optional, it is light, and it is never something you are put into before you are ready.
Beginners are paired with people who know how to hold pads for a beginner, which is most of the difference.
Why people take it up
-
The conditioning is the point
An hour on the pads is the hardest cardio most people will do all week, and it does not feel like a treadmill.
-
It is a different problem
Distance, timing and defence at range.
Grapplers who cross-train find it fixes the half they never see.
-
There is a competition class
For anyone who wants to test it, on the timetable alongside the all-levels sessions.
When they run
8 adult Muay Thai classes a week
All-levels sessions run midday and evening across the week, with a competition class at the weekend.
The full board, including the Jiu-Jitsu programme, is on the timetable.
